Non-compact generalized variational inequalities for quasi-monotone and hemi-continuous operators with applications

Some results are obtained for non-compact cases in topological vector spaces for the existence problem of solutions for some set-valued variational inequalities with quasi-monotone and lower hemi-continuous operators, and with quasi-semi-monotone and upper hemi-continuous operators. Some applications are given in non-reflexive Banach spaces for these existence problems of solutions and for perturbation problems for these set-valued variational inequalities with quasi-monotone and quasi-semi-monotone operators. On a dynamic fractional game

Consider a two-person zero-sum game constructed by a dynamic fractional form. We establish the upper value as well as the lower value of a dynamic fractional game, and prove that the dual gap is equal to zero under certain conditions. It is also established that the saddle point function exists in the fractional game system under certain conditions so that the equilibrium point exists in this game system.     

Convergent Algorithm Based on Progressive Regularization for Solving Pseudomonotone Variational Inequalities

In this paper, we extend the Moreau-Yosida regularization of monotone variational inequalities to the case of weakly monotone and pseudomonotone operators. With these properties, the regularized operator satisfies the pseudo-Dunn property with respect to any solution of the variational inequality problem. As a consequence, the regularized version of the auxiliary problem algorithm converges. In this case, when the operator involved in the variational inequality problem is Lipschitz continuous (a property stronger than weak monotonicity) and pseudomonotone, we prove the convergence of the progressive regularization introduced in Refs. 1, 2.     

A Borsuk–Ulam Theorem for Maps from a Sphere to a Generalized Manifold

H. J. Munkholm obtained a generalization for topological manifolds of the famous Borsuk–Ulam type theorem proved by Conner and Floyd. The purpose of this paper is to prove a version of Conner and Floyd's theorem for generalized manifolds.     

Logic-Based Modeling and Solution of Nonlinear Discrete/Continuous Optimization Problems

This paper presents a review of advances in the mathematical programming approach to discrete/continuous optimization problems. We first present a brief review of MILP and MINLP for the case when these problems are modeled with algebraic equations and inequalities. Since algebraic representations have some limitations such as difficulty of formulation and numerical singularities for the nonlinear case, we consider logic-based modeling as an alternative approach, particularly Generalized Disjunctive Programming (GDP), which the authors have extensively investigated over the last few years. Solution strategies for GDP models are reviewed, including the continuous relaxation of the disjunctive constraints. Also, we briefly review a hybrid model that integrates disjunctive programming and mixed-integer programming. Finally, the global optimization of nonconvex GDP problems is discussed through a two-level branch and bound procedure.     

Variation Preserving Extensions and Generalized Essential Variation

A mapping from a subset of the real axis to a metric space with finite generalized variation is shown to admit extension to a mapping of the whole real axis with the same variation. This result leads to characterization of the generalized essential variation of a mapping.

This paper is a contionuation of [1] and is concerned with multiplication of weak functions. Here the weak functions are treated as generalized expansions in Hermite functions in [2].     

Holomorphic Maps of Compact Generalized Hopf Manifolds

We investigate holomorphic maps between compact generalized Hopf manifolds (i.e., locally conformal Kähler manifolds with parallel Lee form). We show that they preserve the canonical foliations. Moreover, we study compact complex submanifolds of g.H. manifolds and holomorphic submersions from compact g.H. manifolds.
